Compliance Analyst

The Compliance Analyst is responsible for developing plans and coordinating activities of the organization to ensure compliance with ethical or regulatory standards and requirements. This position recommends and implements new and revised compliance programs, policies, and procedures to align with the company's goals, competitive practices, and regulatory requirements. The Compliance Analyst is also responsible for ensuring that compliance reporting (EEO1, Vets 4212, etc.) and the Company affirmative action programs are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and government regulations.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Keeps informed regarding pending regulatory changes, trends, or best practices.
  • Discusses emerging compliance issues to ensure that management and employees are informed about compliance reporting systems, policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Files appropriate compliance reports with regulatory agencies.
  • Provides an escalation point for employee relations matters.
  • Maintains documentation of compliance activities, such as complaints received or investigation outcomes.
  • Identifies compliance and/or ethics issues that require follow-up or investigation.
  • Conducts or provides counsel for the internal investigation of compliance issues.
  • Consults with corporate attorneys as necessary to address difficult legal compliance issues.
  • Develops and identifies employee training on compliance related topics, policies, or procedures.
  • Serves as a confidential point of contact for employees to communicate with management, seek clarification on issues or dilemmas, or report irregularities.
  • Disseminates written policies and procedures related to compliance activities.
  • Prepares management reports regarding compliance operations and progress.
  • Conducts periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed.
  • Monitors compliance systems to ensure their effectiveness.
  • Maintains updated user access for compliance systems to reduce risk.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures related to human resource compliance throughout the organization.
  • Advises internal management or business partners on the implementation or operation of compliance programs.
  • Designs and implements improvements in communication, monitoring, or enforcement of compliance standards.
  • Provides assistance to internal or external auditors in compliance reviews.
  • Advises human resources subject matter experts on the development or use of resources and tools that must meet regulatory compliance standards.
  • Collaborates with human resources team to ensure the implementation of consistent disciplinary action strategies in cases of compliance standard violations and company policy.
  • Manages affirmative action reporting and requirements for the company.
  • Conducts human resource compliance audits to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements for hiring.
  • Reviews or modify policies or operating guidelines to comply with changes to regulatory standards.
  • Verifies that software technology is in place to adequately provide oversight and monitoring in all required areas.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills in dealing with all employees including senior management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Extensive knowledge of employee relations practices and methods.
  • Thorough knowledge of human resource laws, regulations, and investigation methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and systems used for employment risk compliance.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or similar field is required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a compliance or affirmative action role required.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office environment with telephones, personal computers, and printers.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Keying/typing, hearing, field of vision, and talking/speaking.
  • The noise level of the environment is usually moderate.
  • Occasional lifting up to or about 15 pounds.
  • May require standing less than or equal to 1/3 of the day.
  • Occasionally travel may be required.
