About You:

You are a compliance professional in the insurance industry. You have experience identifying, researching, and mitigating compliance risks across an organization. You have in-depth understanding of compliance issues affecting all aspects of an insurance operation.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as Hippo MGA’s primary coordinator and main point of contact for market conduct exams including:
      • Maintaining log of all incoming requests and outgoing responses
      • Working with business teams to ensure complete and accurate responses are submitted on a timely basis
      • Implementing internal escalation processes in instances where responses are incomplete or untimely
      • Working with business teams to track resolution of outstanding requests
      • Tracking and communicating exam findings and mitigation efforts to Executive Management
      • Minimize fines and penalties
  • Oversee Licensing and Appointment function for Hippo’s MGA, Claims, and Retail operations
  • Support insurance compliance of Hippo’s MGA operations including:
      • State level regulatory compliance tracking and implementation as regards Hippo’s MGA products
      • Legal support for Rate, Rule and Form filings
  • Review designated Consumer Complaints
  • Oversee Regulatory Change Management process
  • Coordinate Carrier Audits and participate in Hippo MGA Audits and Reviews
  • Research, identify, and mitigate compliance risks across the organization
  • Meet Legal Department annual objectives
  • Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining multiple projects and responsibilities with a positive can-do attitude

 

Must Haves:

  • 8+ years of insurance company or Department of Insurance experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a similar or related field
  • Personal Lines experience required
  • Overall broad knowledge of how compliance and regulatory issues impact insurance operations and organizations
  • Ability to anticipate compliance issues or risks and to “see around the corner”
  • Ability to implement compliance strategies across functional units
  • License to practice law preferred
  • A natural inclination to work within a culture that is fast-paced and dynamic
  • Self-motivated and directed; ability to collaborate is a must
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn how to help others solve problems
  • Flexible and willing to do what is needed to get great work done
  • Excellent negotiation and communications skills
  • Analytical ability
  • Strong attention to detail
