The Headlines

In the role of Legal Counsel, Commercial working in Chicago, IL, you will be part of the Americas team supporting the commercial functions of the company. You will provide legal advice on a wide range of commercial matters related to the sale and distribution, marketing, and regulation of established beer brands, craft beer brands, and the introduction of disruptive brand offerings in non-alcohol beverages, spirits, and next-generation beverages.

This position reports to the Vice President, Associate General Counsel – Sales/Regulatory/Non-Alc/Hard Liquor.

The Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support across the commercial functions of the company, including sales & distribution, marketing, regulatory, government affairs, non-alc, and hard liquor, in partnership with a team of attorneys, legal analysts, and regulatory affairs specialists
  • Support the implementation of strategic initiatives and innovations, including research into novel legal and regulatory questions.
  • Draft, negotiate, and implement complex distribution, licensing, supply, and other commercial arrangements.
  • You will also develop knowledge and skills in alcohol beverage law to support field marketing and alcohol beverage trade practices work.

The Other Qualifications

  • You have a law degree and at least 3 years of experience in a major law firm and/or corporate legal department (preferably with a CPG company).
  • You work independently with little supervision in a deadline-driven environment while managing multiple, competing priorities, and maintaining attention to detail.
  • You love a challenge. You complete complex projects quickly and adeptly with your understanding of business priorities and work well under pressure.
  • You take accountability for results, acting with integrity and honoring commitments.
  • You have a thirst for learning – you are always looking for ways to learn and help one another grow.
