About the Team

VIZIO is seeking a Privacy Program Manager to join its Privacy team. This is an amazing opportunity to join an award-winning Legal department, play a key role in supporting the company’s rapid growth, and work in the developing area of data privacy law.

What You Will Do Under the general supervision of VIZIO’s privacy counsel, the Privacy Program Manager will primarily be responsible for managing and organizing day-to-day operations of the data privacy compliance program within VIZIO to maintain and continually improve VIZIO’s compliance posture. This may include proposing, presenting, and implementing privacy program elements such as internal policies and procedures, assessments, other guidelines, and trainings and other workforce communications. In addition, the Privacy Program Manager’s role will include the following:

  • Monitor, research and interpret the various data privacy laws, regulations, contractual obligations, and industry best practices relating to data privacy and VIZIO’s product compliance obligations.
  • Carry out privacy impact assessments and other product compliance assessments consistent with VIZIO’s privacy program and other compliance procedures and guidelines.
  • Partner with commercial counsel and procurement to provide privacy subject-matter support for commercial agreements and vendor management.
  • Conduct vendor assessments and assist in other third-party assessments.
  • Work with business groups to maintain data governance documentation, including data inventories and data maps.
  • Respond to consumer requests for access, correction, or deletion.
  • Other duties as assigned.

About You This is for a non-attorney compliance manager role that will work closely with the general supervision of company attorneys. The successful candidate will qualify under one of the following:

  • (A) a Juris Doctorate degree from a U.S. accredited law school (bar passage preferred); or
  • (B) at least 2 years of prior professional experience in data privacy, online advertising or marketing, regulatory compliance, or commercial or corporate transactions.

In addition, the successful candidate will have the following qualifications.

  • Demonstrated interest in developing expertise in data privacy, including holding privacy certifications (CIPP, CIPT, or CIPM certifications from IAPP preferred).
  • Experience working for technology companies, in-house privacy teams, law firms, or accounting or consulting firms.
  • Experience working in large-scale cross-functional programs.
  • Experience with organizing, coordinating, multi-tasking, and process-improvements in a program.
  • Experience with OneTrust

The maximum salary for this position $168,000/year. In addition to base salary, the compensation package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, as well as equity and a range of medical, dental, vision and other benefits.
