Job Overview On top of day-to-day case load, the Managing Attorney is also responsible for the firm's operations, profitability, and ultimately, help in the success of its legal services and longevity of the law firm.


Responsibilities for Managing Attorney:

  • Oversees the activities and work-production of attorneys and support staff

  • Directs law office operations, case assignments and staffing.

  • Monitors Case Status, timelines, and issues

  • Mentors and couches Attorneys and implement staff professional development programs alongside office manager.

  • Ensures that project department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.

  • Represent the client at hearings, trials, mediations, depositions, and litigation

  • Manages a team of personal injury paralegals, legal assistants, case managers, litigation paralegals, and legal secretary

  • Evaluate potential personal injury claims and provide legal advice to prospective clients accordingly

  • Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, insurance company adjusters, supporting witnesses, and medical providers to gather information

  • Represent the client at hearings, trials, mediations, depositions, and litigation

  • Draft, review, and modify claims, motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal documents

  • Research case law and premises liability, and gather insurance policies, medical expenses, medical records, and other evidence relevant to the case

  • and medical providers to gather information


Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of South Carolina
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in personal injury law
  • Proven experience in all aspects of personal injury case management, from initial intake to trial
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively advocate for clients
  • Solid understanding of medical terminology, injuries, and treatment
  • Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume caseload
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and legal software
