Job Summary:

The Assistant General Counsel, Corporate position will primarily support Acrisure’s sourcing and procurement function, including a wide variety of enterprise and business unit commercial transactions, and provide general business counseling on a diverse set of legal, regulatory, operational and other issues. The position reports to the Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Corporate. This role will focus on supporting the sourcing/procurement/vendor contracting needs of Acrisure’s Home Office ( i.e. , corporate) functions, which include, among others: Accounting, Communications, Finance (Capital Markets, Treasury, FP&A), Innovation (Digital Platforms, Digital Marketing, Acrisure Technology Group, Business Information), IT, Operations, Practice Leaders, and Risk Management. This role may also provide contract review/negotiation support for Acrisure’s business units, including Platforms and Agency Partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the workflow of high-volume contracts/transactions and other business counseling matters;
  • Shift priorities and address time-sensitive issues and matters to support real-time business demands, needs and deadlines;
  • Take direction and execute on delegated assignments/matters from direct manager with minimal supervision, exhibiting resourcefulness and independent judgment;
  • Provide overall legal and regulatory support to Acrisure’s Home Office functions, advising on transactional, operational, and regulatory matters, taking a risk-based, practical and pragmatic approach to counseling the business;
  • Provide accurate, practical, pragmatic, timely, and responsive legal and regulatory advice and guidance to Acrisure’s management and personnel on a wide range of issues affecting Acrisure’s varied businesses;
  • Track and maintain transactional matters in company system and keep timely records to support accurate and up-to-date reporting and metrics; and
  • Participate in joint efforts and projects to help meet the demands of Acrisure’s enterprise-wide goals and strategies.

Education/Experience:

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited nationally recognized law school;
  • Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction;
  • At least 5-8 years of law firm and/or in-house experience required;
  • Experience with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various types of contracts and agreements forms, including IT and non-IT services agreements (e.g., MSAs, SOWs, Order Forms, Purchase Orders);
  • Experience with corporate and general business contract law; and
  • Understanding of U.S. privacy and data security laws and regulations strongly preferred.
