As the Director of Licensing, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing all aspects of our Licensing Compliance Program. You will ensure that the company adheres to licensing regulatory requirements, legal obligations, and internal policies and practices. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining policies and procedures, liaising with regulatory agencies, and driving the company's compliance efforts. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining a strong license management system and fostering relationships with key stakeholders. This role is based out of our HQ in Atlanta, GA but remote may be considered for highly qualified individuals.  This role will report to the Vice President of Compliance.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Licensing Compliance Program, ensuring alignment with the company's objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Policy Development: Develop and maintain comprehensive policies and procedures related to the Licensing Compliance Program, regularly evaluating licensing activities and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
  • Technology Mastery: Develop a deep understanding of licensing software, such as OneComply, and leverage it to streamline license applications and compliance processes.
  • Due Diligence: Conduct thorough vendor due diligence reviews using various databases, including LexisNexis and Clear, and prepare suitability reports.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to ensure that licensing compliance requirements are communicated throughout the organization effectively. Support and liaise with colleagues to drive licensing compliance efforts.
  • Reporting: Regularly submit comprehensive licensing reports to senior management, keeping them informed of licensing matters and compliance status.
  • Regulatory Relationships: Build and nurture strong working relationships with regulatory agencies, serving as the primary contact for licensing compliance-related matters.
  • Data Management: Maintain the confidentiality of company and personal data while overseeing the license management system, including relevant document management.
  • Ad Hoc Responsibilities: Perform any other job-related duties as requested by the organization.

 

What you have:

  • Experience: 8-12 years of relevant experience in licensing within the gaming industry, with a demonstrated track record of leadership in licensing compliance programs.  Experience with online gaming licensing is preferred.
  • Licensing Expertise: Prior corporate/entity licensing experience is highly preferred, and a strong understanding of regulatory requirements is essential.
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree is required.  A law degree or equivalent education and experience is a plus. 
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies.
  • Resourcefulness: Ability to be resourceful, proactive, and self-sufficient in managing compliance programs.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, early-stage start-up environment, with the flexibility to adapt to evolving compliance needs and challenges.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team and influence cross-functional collaboration.

 

Where you’ll live:

  • This position is based in our HQ in Atlanta, GA. A remote role with occasional travel to our HQ in Atlanta may be considered for highly qualified individuals.
