Our client, a prominent legal firm specializing in healthcare representation, is actively seeking a highly skilled Legal Associate to join their dynamic team. This position involves representing healthcare facilities and providers across various medical specialties, including cardiology, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, emergency medicine, family medicine, anesthesia, dentistry, psychiatry, plastic surgery, nursing, and physical therapy.

Position Overview: As a Legal Associate, you will work under the general supervision of the department supervisor, providing comprehensive legal support for healthcare facilities and providers. This position is onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and interpret facts and laws related to intricate problems and situations, focusing on litigation, including the defense of complex medical malpractice actions.
  • Review and analyze medical records to develop a robust litigation defense strategy.
  • Research and prepare memoranda on various legal issues.
  • Draft correspondence in response to inquiries from clients, attorneys, judges, officials, and agencies.
  • Draft and respond to written discovery.
  • Represent the client in legal proceedings, including court appearances, administrative hearings, depositions, and meetings.
  • Prepare and enter daily time entries.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in litigation, with a preference for candidates with medical malpractice litigation experience and immediately transferrable skills.
  • Law degree from an accredited law school with admission to the New Jersey Bar; additional Bar admissions are a plus.
  • Trial experience is a strong plus.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both oral and written, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently, and establish work priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally with court officials, judges, attorneys, and the general public, maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Comfortable working within established systems and processes, collaborating extensively with other attorneys, paralegals, and office staff.
  • Proven ability to generate new clients through individual and firm-wide networking and marketing efforts.
  • Comfortable with client meetings and public speaking.
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Commitment to maintaining a high level of proficiency in the most current and advanced legal techniques.

Benefits: Base annual salary range $105,000 - $110,000. Comprehensive benefits package, including 100% paid single health insurance, a portion of dependent costs, 401(k) match, and profit sharing.
