We are seeking an innovative and analytical Forecasting & Planning Manager to support the Prime Video Trust & Safety Operations team to drive and align long-term capacity strategy and planning for the Prime Video Trust & Safety program, while standardizing business requirements as you are driving improvements in cost-to-serve initiatives. Prime Video Trust & Safety programs aim to enable a globally trusted customer experience by ensuring that Prime Video (PV) provides content customers love and trust and accurate, meaningful and complete information to empowering customers to make informed viewing choices for themselves and their children.

This role emphasizes creating alignment among various stakeholder teams. The Forecasting & Planning Manager will design scalable programs that optimize business size for our top partners while also ensuring we don't weight too much capacity on too few partners. By working closely with multiple teams, both upstream and downstream, the Capacity Planning Manager will establish a cohesive approach to find this balance. This opportunity requires excellent problem-solving, communication skills and a strong track record of delivering results. A strong record of customer advocacy and influence without authority is important for this role.

This role will manage a team of 4 analysts based in San Jose, Costa Rica and Bangalore, India.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work on a diverse project portfolio supporting Prime Video Trust & Safety Capacity Planning initiatives and strategy
  • Build scalable and data driven short-term and long-range capacity plans.
  • Build and manage processes to incorporate planning inputs in a seamless and scalable manner.
  • Build partnerships with upstream planning functions to measure, control and respond to planning variations.
  • Coordinate global analytic roll-ups in support of project work and reporting as needed.
  • Create new reporting and analytic opportunities by analyzing and understanding key planning processes.
  • Thought leadership on integration of new products/services supported by Prime Video Trust & Safety Capacity.
  • Document writing and presentations on key initiatives used to influence necessary business actions benefiting the Prime Video Trust & Safety Capacity network.

Basic Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, economics or related field
  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • 3+ years of experience quantitative research or analyses
  • 3+ years SQL and Excel experience
  • Experience in building and managing capacity/labor/inventory plans for large scale global operations
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Experience working with SPSS, SAS, R, Python in a professional setting
  • Some programming experience is a plus to automate tools whenever appropriate
  • Database Administration skills
  • Basic/Working knowledge of Six Sigma tools and Lean techniques
  • Supervisory experience (3+ direct reports)
  • Demonstrated ability to set up processes to scale up operations in a fast-paced organization
  • Experience in managing multiple stakeholders in a global setup with stakeholders present across the globe
  • Experience in implementing organization wide processes to improve efficiency of operations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $198,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
