What You'll Do

Join the Litigation team of the world's largest retailer to manage a docket of general liability tort matters in consultation with in-house and outside counsel. The Associate Counsel - Tort role is critical to implementing mitigation strategies and ensuring consistent implementation of company policies and practices, including those relating to litigation and appeals. You will collaborate with cross functional teams to mitigate legal and business risk. You will analyze litigated cases, determine complexity and value for possible resolution or ongoing litigation, and partner with other teams to identify and preserve discovery items and evidence. You will also retain, manage, and collaborate closely with outside counsel to drive case strategy, review court submissions, manage legal spend and spot Company risks.

  • Creating strategies for the Company's tort litigation portfolio
  • Developing business best practices and procedures that will mitigate corporate risk
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Identifying and recommending ways to continually improve and streamline processes and practices
