Learneo is scaling!  The Legal Operations Manager is a newly created role within the Learneo Legal & Compliance team that will play a crucial role in building and optimizing legal team operations, contract and knowledge management, and workflow and process design. The Legal Operations Manager will work closely with the Associate General Counsel, Senior Commercial Counsels, and cross-functional corporate operations teams to support business stakeholders within a growing, fast-paced and complex global business. An ideal candidate is someone who is a self-starter, has deep experience in contract management and legal operations, and is passionate about process building. 

 

Here are some ways you’ll make an impact 

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, share best practices, and improve efficiency with Learneo’s legal and compliance workflows, processes, organizational structure, systems and technologies
  • Plan for, select, implement, champion, and maintain legal tech
  • Lead implementation of the Company’s information governance and records management programs in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external experts
  • Support counsel and collaborate with HR on onboarding and management of large, international freelancer workforce
  • Assist the department’s efforts to create and refine forms, playbooks, systems, processes, and procedures
  • Manage legal team workflow and primary responsibility for triaging and updating task and request statuses 
  • Evaluate and improve how legal intakes, assigns, and manages legal work
  • Support commercial counsels by taking ownership of reviewing certain templated contracts, like NDAs, order forms, independent contractor agreements
  • Report on key operational and substantive metrics for the department that will better inform decision-making, including matter and work product analyses and dashboards
  • Promote best practices for knowledge management and tracking regulatory developments
  • Coordinate the department’s delivery of training across the company, the training of department members, and team offsites
  • Manage special projects as required or requested

 

Are you our Legal Operations Manager? 

  • 5 years of relevant work experience, including at least 2 in legal operations, contract management, or legal coordination
  • Experienced in developing, implementing, and using legal tech solutions (e.g. legal workflow tools, CLMs, contract repositories, redlining software)
  • Excellent organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and unfailing follow-up to effectively manage multiple activities of varying difficulty, priority and complexity
  • Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams, in a professional manner
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Strong sense of accountability, integrity and taking ownership over projects and responsibilities and resolving issues proactively

 

Bonus Points 

  • Experience building brand new legal processes and workflows, and implementing new legal tech or systems 
  • Project management experience 
  • Demonstrated ability to independently move projects forward by gaining support needed from others while working in a cross-functional role
  • Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional groups (e.g., Finance, Operations, IT) to set objectives and produce meaningful results
  • Experience with specific legal tech and task management tools like Ironclad, Lexion, Pramata, LinkSquares, Streamline AI, Jira, Notion, Asana
  • Has a solid understanding of commercial contracting principles and able to work independently to review basic commercial contracts

We are a virtual-first company and have employees dispersed throughout the United States and Canada. We have a market-based pay structure that varies by location. The base pay for this position is dependent on multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed below. You may also be eligible to participate in our bonus program and may be offered an equity award, benefits, and other types of compensation.

This role is eligible for hire in the San Fransisco Bay Area, California, Toronto, Canada & Vancouver, Canada, with the expectation that this individual will be working PST hours.

In accordance with Canadian law, the base salary for this role if filled within Canada is as follows.

Canada Pay Range
$91,000$123,000 CAD

In accordance with California law, the base salary for this role if filled within SF Bay Area, California is as follows. 

SF Bay Area, California Pay Range
$120,000$162,000 USD
