We are looking for a passionate, business-savvy, and resourceful Director of Legal Operations to join the legal team. The position will work closely with all our legal leaders, and business stakeholders at all levels of the company to define and drive strategic and operational initiatives with on-time and on-budget results. As our Director of Legal Operations, you will be key in creating processes and practices to improve the day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness of the Legal team, facilitate change, and control costs. You will manage a team of 1, and oversee external consultants and resources. This position reports to our Chief Legal Officer and is a full time position, based in our Sunnyvale office.

As a Director of Legal Operations in JFrog you will...

  • Assist legal leadership team with day-to-day department operations, including reporting, dashboarding, budgeting, and financial management
  • Assist in the design,  collection, report and assessment of legal department key operational and substantive metrics that will better inform decision-making, including matter and work product analyses and dashboards.
  • Create and drive relationships with other key company functions, such as HR, IT, and Finance and identify dependencies and facilitate collaboration with cross functional teams
  • Plan for, select, implement, champion, and maintain legal tech, including implementation of CLM tool. Serve as business system owner for projects and drive use of technologies to increase efficiencies
  •  Promote best practices for knowledge management, filing system, and tracking regulatory developments
  • Evaluate and improve how legal intakes, assigns, and manages legal work, including  creation of legal internal site that serve as a portal to all legal requests and automation of first level legal support (self help center)
  • Create strategies and processes to manage recruiting, and oversee onboarding of new team members
  • Assist the department’s efforts to create and refine forms, knowledge, playbooks, systems, processes, and procedures
  • Coordinate the department’s delivery of training across the company, the training of department members, and team offsite
  • Develop and enforce processes and policies to manage outside counsel usage and spend
  • Assist with the collection of feedback through customer satisfaction surveys
  • Manage special projects as required or requested

To be a Director of Legal Operations in JFrog you need...

  • 7+ years of legal experience, including at least  5 with legal operations
  • Deep understanding of legal department structure, functions (commercial, compliance, corporate, litigation, IP), and processes, with a proven track record of building and growing a centralized legal operations team
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, in a professional manner
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of enterprise tools, and tools integration including Google Suite and Microsoft Office suite. Experience in designing and implementing dashboards. Proficiency in legal tools like CLM, compliance, ebilling system. Experience in integration with  enterprise tools like Oracle and Salesforce
  • Strong experience in developing, implementing, and using legal department technology solutions (e.g., e-Billing, contract lifecycle management systems)
  • Strong sense of accountability, integrity and taking ownership over projects and responsibilities and resolving issues proactively
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, and strong analytical abilities
  • Excellent project management and operational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to independently move projects forward by gaining support needed from others while working in a cross-functional role
  • A record of past achievement, including the ability to spearhead process creation and improvementExcellent organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and unfailing follow-up to effectively manage multiple activities of varying difficulty, priority and complexity
  • Experience managing outsourced functions and vendors
  • Entrepreneurial drive and comfort working in ambiguous, fast-growing, quickly-changing environments

WHAT JFROG CAN OFFER… 

  • At JFrog, base salary is only one component of our compensation package.
  • This position has a base salary range between $180,000 to $205,000.  Base salary will be based on your skills, qualifications, experience and location.
  • This position also includes an equity package of restricted stock units (RSU).  In addition, JFrog employees are eligible to participate in our Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

  • JFrog embraces hybrid work: 3 days in office / 2 days remote.
  • Additionally, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments.
