Your Mission

We are looking for a seasoned, self-driven, and results-oriented, in-house Senior Corporate Counsel/Corporate Counsel (SCC/CC) to join our growing multinational Legal Department. In this role, as a seasoned litigator with significant experience as an employment counselor reporting to the SVP Legal, the SCC/CC is responsible for representing the company and providing business-oriented and practical legal advice to internal clients, including People Department and management, regarding all aspects of employment law and in securities litigation.

Areas of employment-related expertise should include: fair employment practices (antidiscrimination/ harassment, retaliation) and whistleblower claims; administrative agency matters before the EEOC and other agencies; litigation and dispute resolution; employee relations matters, performance management, disciplinary action and internal investigations; ADA, FMLA and other leave and disability law compliance; wage and hour law; employee benefits and compensation; restrictive covenants; reductions in force, mergers and acquisitions; employee privacy (searches, monitoring, recording communications); contingent workforce matters; federal contractor compliance with OFCCP regulations; diversity and inclusion initiatives; and, immigration matters.

Areas of litigation-related expertise should include: litigation experience with sophisticated disputes, such as securities matters, including e-discovery and reviewing motions and briefs.

The SCC/CC will provide timely, effective, and practical guidance on a day-to-day basis in a stimulating, collegial, in-house setting. In addition, the SCC/CC will lead or participate in strategic and operational initiatives.

The right person in this role will be flexible and have experience in global compliance (especially anti bribery and anti-corruption or trade compliance) or governance and securities or software and SaaS contracts.

Successful candidates will work well independently and are trustworthy, dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoy managing multiple complex projects in a fast-paced atmosphere.

This is a remote role based in the US, either Eastern or Central time zones, with frequent interaction with the EMEA team.


What you'll do at UiPath

  • Provide day-to-day counsel, guidance and support to management, HR Business Partners and business leaders on all stages of the employment relationship from recruitment, background screening and hiring, to pay, promotion, performance evaluation, re-assignment, discipline, termination, and benefits, as well as successful resolution of disputes.
  • Manage litigation, arbitration, and administrative actions, including supervision of defense to employment-related charges, notices and complaints raised through various administrative agencies. Hands-on role in coordinating and advising case strategy, including discovery, drafting, and editing, preparing witnesses, attending depositions, mediations, fact-findings and hearings, and negotiating cost effective resolutions of disputes and claims.
  • Provide regular counsel and support to HR and management on FMLA, ADA and related matters, leave administration, reasonable accommodations, and disability benefits.
  • Assist with complex compliance, Code of Conduct and/or employee relations investigations.
  • Review and advise on policies and procedures that raise employment issues.
  • Create and deliver trainings to employee groups, as dictated by business needs.


What you'll bring to the team

  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience as In-house/Corporate Counsel for a Tech start-up, or within the Technology industry.
  • Prior experience counselling all aspects of HR, employment issues, and global compliance.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and successfully manage competing deadlines.
  • Outstanding legal and business judgment, capable of making smart decisions in ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to balance managing workloads with stakeholders’ demands and competing and shifting priorities, while meeting deadlines and delivering results within a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
  • Maintains a positive “can-do” attitude and strong sense of ownership over duties and responsibilities, and consistently delivers quality work on time.
  • Team player with exceptional people skills who has the demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong relationships at all levels of an organization.
  • Pragmatic, business focus with an understanding of business goals, and the ability to assess and creatively manage risk.
  • Ability to communicate at a high level with executive management.
  • JD from a top-tier law school and be a member in good standing with a state bar.

Pay Transparency

The anticipated base salary range for this position is between $187,500 and $281,250. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location and relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
