Job Description: Join our growing legal department! Gain valuable experience across a wide variety of industry segments and practice areas, collaborate directly with the business team, and grow with the company. The Assistant General Counsel will report to the General Counsel.

Primary Responsibilities include:

• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts alongside business teams and leaders
• Draft and negotiate commercial leases, conduct property related diligence in support of M&A activity, and assist in evaluating acquisition opportunities for current and future locations
• Assist with management of intellectual property portfolio
• Assist with management of litigation and compliance matters, including interfacing with outside counsel and implementing internal controls and procedures
• Provide advice to cross functional teams in support of business objectives, including developing strategies for addressing legal issues and building processes to address risk

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience at either a law firm or in-house position is required
• Commercial contracts, real estate leasing, and/or investment experience a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills; proactive communicator; positive attitude; and team player
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize responsibilities
• Excellent research, writing and negotiating skills
• Extremely detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• A hands-on, whatever it takes approach to solving problems and project management
• Desire to contribute to company growth and development outside of legal work
• Juris Doctorate from top US law school
• Admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, Virginia, or Maryland

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
