Legal Counsel within the Global Law and Compliance Department (GLCD) will support all Wolters Kluwer divisions and business units on various regulatory and compliance matters including trade compliance, anti-bribery and anti-corruption and code of conduct. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• With direction from the Managing Legal Counsel, carryout the Wolters Kluwer trade compliance program, including conducting trade sanctions screenings, and analyzing and summarizing the results in reports for the applicable Wolters Kluwer business.  
• Conduct anti-bribery and anti-corruption due diligence on third party representatives and document such due diligence in risk reports for the applicable Wolters Kluwer business.
• Create training programs to educate workforce members on important compliance initiatives within the GLCD.
• Support GLCD in other compliance and regulatory projects and initiatives.
• Work cross-functionally with Wolters Kluwer divisions and business units and other members of the GLCD as needed.
• Where appropriate, effectively manage outside counsel in a cost-effective manner.
• Identify areas for improvement and drive consistency of process and standardization using technology to automate tasks.

Education:

• Candidates must have both a bachelor’s degree and law degree (J.D.) and must be admitted to practice law.

Experience:

• 1-3 years of compliance and/or legal experience. 
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
• Strong intellect, excellent legal acumen, and rigorous analytical skills.
• Superior legal drafting skills.
