A highly regarded law firm in Washington D.C. is seeking an experienced eDiscovery paralegal for a contract position.

  • This is a contract position
  • Ideal candidates will able to come into the DC office a minimum of 2-3 times per week

The firm is seeking tech-savvy candidates with experience using and conducting searches in Relativity.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct searches and utilized Relativity to assist with all eDiscovery needs.
  • Provide paralegal support to attorneys through all phases of litigation including, but not limited to, drafting, research, document review/analysis, preparing productions, preparing for hearings, depositions and trials, and live trial support.
  • Prepare documents and docket deadlines for meetings, court filings, etc. Follow-up with the attorney to ensure that deadlines are being met.
  • Check citations, proofread documents, and collect exhibits.
  • Manage all case materials, including electronic files and database applications.
  • Review, gather, and organize client documents from production to discovery and review and organize opposing party documents.
  • Research and summarize records, as needed, to assist in data gathering, including the organization of information within databases.
  • Extensive and factual research using Pacer and/or other resources to gather information or documents requested by attorneys for maximum efficiency.
  • Track the course of information and case materials and provide docketing updates to counsel.
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as mailings, file retrieval, handling service payments, filing emails, etc. as needed.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and service providers.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Undergraduate degree and/or paralegal certificate required
  • 3-5 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department required
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate projects and cases for more than one attorney simultaneously
  • Must successfully prioritize demands from attorneys and remain calm under pressure
  • Must possess strong organizational, research, problem solving, and time management skills
  • Experience in trial settings highly preferred
  • A resourceful self-starter with a proactive mindset.
  • Must conduct all business in a confidential manner
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and e-discovery tools required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required

Consilio offers non-attorney flexible talent placement rates that range from $15 to $100 per hour depending upon experience level and specific skills requested by the client, the candidate’s general skill set, the applicability of candidate's skill set to client need, client budget, number of hours requested, and other factors. A specific rate of pay for a project will be discussed with you if it is determined that you are a potential fit for a role.
