The Trust & Safety team has the critical responsibility of protecting Credit Karma's members by securing our online processes and preventing online fraud and abuse throughout the Credit Karma product suite.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Trust & Safety Manager to join our organization.

As a Security Trust & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive security and trust programs to ensure the safety and integrity of our operations, members, and employees. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and enforce policies and procedures that align with industry best practices.

This is a critical role that requires strong leadership, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of security protocols and technologies.

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop, implement and lead a robust security trust & safety strategy and framework, aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and other stakeholders on security trust & safety matters, providing regular reports and recommendations.
  • Grow a cohesive functional organization through strong cross-team relationships, shared vision, and strong alignment around key results.
  • Identify and assess potential fraud use cases across all aspects of the business, including application, identity and data security.
  • Monitor and analyze security incidents, breaches, and fraud attempts; promptly investigate any security breaches and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, maintain and mature our fraud operating procedures and processes.

Qualifications

 

  • 3+ years of prior management experience of leading the Trust & Safety team.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical work experience.
  • Deep domain expertise in the fraud domain, with extensive knowledge of identity and payment fraud methods, and tools and processes for prevention, detection and fraud operations.
  • Extensive and demonstrated experience with leading and building fraud platforms and tools development at financial services or technology companies.
  • Experience with driving continuous improvement and automation of the Fraud Risk Assessment program
  • Knowledge of payment channels and risk & control frameworks
  • Knowledge of digital identity capabilities, external fraud, theft, & loss events
  • Familiarity across security domains (fraud, cyber, physical)
  • Passion and drive to fight fraud and protect clients, the business and the ecosystem from criminal activity
  • Experience at a regulated financial institution preferred
  • Understanding of NACHA rules, Reg E, Reg D, and KYC/AML
