The One Legal team at Equinix is seeking a SLED Contracts Manager to support State Government, Local Government, and Educational Institution (SLED) customers for Equinix’s rapidly-growing public sector business.  This role will be based in Herndon, VA. Candidates with FED experience are welcome.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to department personnel on the handling of SLED customer contracting issues

  • Identification, development, and implementation of enhancements to Equinix’s SLED/public sector contracting policies and processes

  • Understand, adhere to, and promote company ethics and compliance policies 

  • Communicate and correspond directly with SLED customer contracting officials

  • Review SLED agreements and negotiate and draft contract language to ensure that the documents accurately reflect the parties’ positions

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop potential solutions for customer requests and seek approvals within company guidelines

  • Manage active contracts and engagements

  • Use functional experience and expertise in the review and administration of nondisclosure, teaming, and subcontract agreements

  • Assist with proposal preparation, including examination of RFP solicitation requirements and estimates, analyzing terms and conditions to evaluate risks to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, customer specifications, and proposal submission

  • Review, improve, and address gap areas in contracting department templates and documents

  • Travel to company locations or customer sites as and when necessary

  • Perform other duties as required

 

Qualifications 

  • At least three to six years of experience in engaging, directing, or managing the contracting process with the SLED customers (including formation, negotiation, and administration activities) or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience and familiarity with various SLED procurement rules and procedures 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a closely related discipline is preferred but not required

  • Advanced degrees in contracts management preferred but not required

  • Commercial contracts legal knowledge preferred but not required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with external and internal customers

  • Analytical approach to problem solving, risk assessment, and strategy

  • Excellent proposal development skills and strong ability to navigate complex negotiations

  • Proven ability to ‘issue spot’ based on past work experience and formal training received

  • Must be a highly organized individual capable of multi-tasking and will be required to manage multiple functions and interact with personnel at all levels of management

  • Strong Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel & Microsoft PowerPoint skills
