Do you want to work on exciting, cutting edge legal issues and help shape Amazon’s newest products and services? Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to advise our rapidly growing and evolving Consumer Devices business on privacy, regulatory, and consumer protection issues. As a product counsel, you will directly advise business leaders, product and engineering teams on a variety of legal issues related to product launch and development. You will also provide day-to-day input on business strategy on some of our newest and most innovative projects, advising on new product and service launches, security, accessibility, marketing, and other compliance matters. Your role will also include supporting a variety of stakeholders, including privacy, public relations, and public policy teams.

• This position can be based in Washington DC., Sunnyvale, CA or Seattle, WA.

Basic Qualifications

• J.D. and membership in good standing in at least one state bar
• 5+ years of legal experience
• 2+ years experience in a law firm is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Product counseling, privacy, or regulatory experience--or an eagerness to dive in and learn!
• Ability to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations
• Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Common sense and great judgment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $123,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
