Job Purpose

To provide professional legal and administrative support to EXIM’s Administrative Law Group in managing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) oversight responsibilities. This includes applying FOIA exemptions to EXIM-controlled records, performing redactions using Adobe software, establishing document management protocols, and organizing review records to facilitate FOIA litigation responses. Additionally, the role involves ensuring compatibility with EXIM FOIA office software and providing assistance in FOIA litigation as required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional legal and administrative services in support of EXIM’s Administrative Law Group’s FOIA oversight responsibilities.
  • Ensure the availability of personnel who possess expertise in applying FOIA exemptions to a diverse range of records controlled by EXIM.
  • Apply FOIA exemptions, including performing redactions in Adobe.
  • Support document management protocols to facilitate organization of documents reviewed, proposed redactions, and documents released.
  • Leverage legal expertise and proficiency in records management administration.
  • Use FOIA request processing software to apply proposed redactions and ensure that the software used is compatible with the software currently used by FOIA
  • Ensure thorough organization of reviewed documents to facilitate efficient response to FOIA litigation regarding release, redaction, or withholding decisions made by EXIM.
  • Provide personnel as fact witnesses and aiding in responding to plaintiff discovery requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University
