Our Claims Counsel team is currently seeking a Paralegal Claims Counsel in our Worcester, MA location. This is a full time, non-exempt role. This role is eligible for Hybrid/Flex work arrangement.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Claim Counsel Paralegal will be responsible for supporting the attorneys in the Claim Counsel organization, primarily on litigation functions, with a focus on preparing responses to subpoenas and discovery requests directed to the Company, administering the Claims Department’s litigation hold and electronic discovery processes, managing legal projects, providing general legal and administrative support for the Claims Counsel Group.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Coordinates and prepares responses to subpoenas served on the Company seeking documents and other information.
  • Manages and supports preparation of discovery responses in litigation involving the Company.
  • Administers the Claims Department’s litigation hold and electronic discovery processes in collaboration with the Company’s Office of the General Counsel
  • Performs various administrative tasks such as scheduling, preparing litigation reports, creating/ maintaining legal databases and document archives, processing legal invoices responding to routine inquiries and preparing expense reports. Manages various projects as necessary to meet evolving legal demands.

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:

  • High School degree required; college degree and or paralegal or related certification preferred.
  • Paralegal experience and/or familiarity with litigation a plus though willing to train a candidate with the relevant capabilities and aptitude.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite of applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive and SharePoint
  • The aptitude and willingness to learn multiple technology platforms as needed for purposes of searching for relevant documents, managing litigation, and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally with others, including our outside law firms.
  • Organized, motivated, team oriented and able to exercise sound judgment and discretion.
