Overview As the Director, TTR Franchise, Commercial Counsel, you will hold a pivotal position within the Commercial Legal Team, partnering with the US TTR marketing and sales teams to drive the success of the TTR franchise across both healthcare professional (HCP) and consumer channels. Our team is at the forefront of commercializing an industry-leading TTR Franchise, with a focus on preparing for the potential launch of vutrisiran in ATTR amyloidosis with cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM). If approved, vutrisiran is anticipated to emerge with a market-leading profile in ATTR-CM, offering a unique mechanism of action and the potential for a highly impactful clinical profile in a growing market with significant unmet patient needs. In this role, you will be entrusted with partnering with and advising the business as they develop comprehensive strategies and tactics that harmonize with our overarching TTR franchise strategy and resonate effectively across all channels.

This attorney will also work closely with other legal, compliance, and regulatory colleagues as well as those across other expertise areas and geographies to ensure alignment in support of the legal team mission and business goals.

This position is hybrid and will be primarily located in Cambridge, MA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, high quality, practical legal advice and support to U.S. commercial and medical affairs teams based on applicable laws and regulations (including those that involve fraud and abuse and anti-kickback laws), industry standards, and Alnylam policies and guidelines
  • Analyze advertising and promotional materials, non-promotional disease awareness materials, patient services and patient assistance activities and communications, training materials, speaker program materials, medical education activities, and advisory board content for the U.S. TTR market
  • Advise on field commercial and medical tactics and associated training
  • Identify, analyze and mitigate legal and commercial risks and advise relevant teams
  • Act as a business partner to the compliance team in connection with policy setting, training and other activities
  • Partner with legal colleagues to support general corporate, R&D legal matters, and other legal projects and initiatives as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required, Juris Doctor from an accredited law school in the U.S. is required, with excellent academic credentials is preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of legal experience
  • Experience in pharma / biotech industry, or from a law firm working on healthcare-related matters
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a wide variety of company colleagues as well as with external parties on a broad range of matters
  • Ability to make and communicate thoughtful, integrated and timely decisions and take corresponding actions
  • Manage outside counsel as specialized advice is required for projects or activities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, to work independently and manage discrete areas of responsibility, and to flourish in a fast-paced and high energy environment
  • Strong organizational skills in order to maintain a high level of productivity, innovation and priority-settling in order to meet commitments on-time and handle a high volume of work
  • Proven ability to work with a high level of integrity, transparency, accuracy and attention to detail
