We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contracts Manager to work out of our Houston, TX office (hybrid option available) (13131 West Little York Road Houston, TX 77041). As a Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for preparing, negotiating, and recording business contracts on behalf of our company. Your key duties include managing the entire contract lifecycle—from negotiation and redlining to drafting, execution, and renewal. Additionally, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, maintaining relationships with suppliers, and acting as the main point of contact for contract-related matters. Proficiency in contract management software, including tools like CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management), is essential. This is a non-supervisory, individual contributor role. Essential Job Duties:

  • Consistent with company policies and legal requirements, draft, redline, review, prepare, edit, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and bid documents, including vendor agreements, confidentiality agreements, and master services and purchasing agreements.
  • Manage and improve specialized contracts software (including AI-assisted technologies and Company-specific intranet portals) and repositories, and ensure accurate documentation, organization, and maintenance of contract files, including tracking milestones and obligations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as legal counsel, sales, finance, respective business units, and procurement, to identify contract requirements and objectives.
  • Facilitate and develop contract execution process, ensuring timely review, approval, and signature by all parties involved, while maintaining proper version control.
  • Monitor and track contract performance, including deliverables, milestones, deadlines/dates, and obligations, to ensure compliance and adherence to contractual terms and deadlines.
  • Conduct periodic contract audits and compliance checks to ensure adherence to contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Stay abreast of changes in contract laws, regulations, and industry best practices, and provide guidance and training to internal teams as needed.
  • Perform other duties as may be required to support Legal Group functions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate degree.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience at a law firm and/or in-house legal, supply chain, procurement, or similar group.
  • Paralegal and/or category manager experience is a plus.
  • Strong work ethic and proven ability to multi-task and set priorities.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and writing/editing skills.
  • Technical acumen with managing a contract management software platform.
