THE OPPORTUNITY

This Office of Ethics and Compliance position works out of our Abbott Park, Illinois location partnering with the Abbott Nutrition and Abbott Nutritional International teams.

As the Director, Ethics and Compliance for Abbott Nutrition International you will be a compliance advisor to all levels of business functions within Abbott Nutrition and provide direct oversight and responsibility for the key elements of Abbott’s compliance program for Abbott Nutrition International and Abbott Nutrition global Research and Development, including risk identification and mitigation.  In this position you will also act as the strategic advisor on Infant Formula Marketing policies, procedures, external stakeholder engagements, and WHO code compliance.  

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

  • Complex ethics and compliance matters that have significant impact to Abbott, with a focus on Abbott Nutrition and the Abbott Nutrition International business.
  • Design, delivery, and implementation of a robust ethics, risk and compliance program in a highly dynamic nutrition business and complex international regulatory environment.
  • Providing leadership, guidance and support to Abbott Nutrition business functions, including Abbott Nutrition Senior Leadership, on complex ethics and compliance issues, including policy interpretation and requirements, compliance risk assessment, trend analysis and compliance best practice recommendations.
  • Risk assessment of business strategies and activities, including analysis of business impact to Abbott Nutrition and greater Abbott.
  • Collaboration and stakeholder management across a highly matrixed and culturally diverse organization.
  • Oversight of corporate and Abbott Nutrition division monitoring processes and data analytics to ensure compliance and highlight trends and potential risks.
  • Developing and delivering OEC’s comprehensive training program and collaborating with the international business and compliance organization to develop and deliver compliance training relevant to Abbott Nutrition. 
  • Reviewing industry trends and participating in trade association and external stakeholder management activities.  
  • Providing leadership and guidance on proposed Abbott Nutrition International commercial programs, identifying complex legal and regulatory issues, developing alternatives and working with business partners and legal, as appropriate, to propose solutions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS required.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in compliance, legal, internal audit or compliance related profession.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including but not limited to Excel file management and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal skills and an ability to effectively communicate, influence, direct and collaborate with colleagues at all levels.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced Degree. May include fields such as JD, CPA, MBA or Masters in other relevant fields including Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences.
  • Experience with Data Analytics, including building, integrating and managing reports and/or dashboards in relevant systems such as Advanced Excel, Microsoft Power BI or Tableau.
  • Experience working in nutrition or life sciences sector.
  • Experience working in international compliance.

 

The base pay for this position is $143,300.00 – $286,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
