Job Description

This position enhances attorney effectiveness by developing case information, evidence, and settlement options; tracking cases; supporting attorney's trial proceedings.

  • Schedule and coordinate legal activities relating to claims, litigation and insurance matters
  • Research and analysis of law, preparation of briefs, and assist with strategy development
  • Draft original documents for negotiations of moderate complexity
  • Develop standard documents
  • Review joint venture and partnership documents, secrecy and licensing agreements, contracts, and other corporate documents
  • Act as a company representative when requested
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and one (1) year of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to four (4) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in either private practice or corporate or government environment
  • Applicable license(s) and registration(s) in area of specialty or discipline
  • Outstanding project management, organizational, and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, with strong ability to prioritize
  • Demonstrated experience in a broad range of substantive legal and business areas
  • Flexibility, versatility and ability to deal with multiple issues, priorities, and personnel is expected and required
  • Capacity to collaborate with others and outstanding time-management abilities are essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with outside counsel and deal with internal clients at many different levels within an organization
  • Proficient in the use of computers to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, and electronic presentation programs
