As a senior corporate attorney in Progressive’s Corporate Legal Department, you’ll be part of a collaborative team advising on data, artificial intelligence, consumer-facing technology, content, processes, and enhancing user experience. Your also promote and advocate for Progressive’s business and legal interests. You’ll support business units as they design, develop, and implement new systems and technology, occasional contract drafting and negotiation, regulatory research, and advocacy, compliance, and best practices counseling. You’ll also support due diligence for potential mergers and acquisitions, and support related integration activities, for potential mergers and acquisitions, with respect to related subject matters.

 

Must-have qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate
  • Active license to practice law in at least one state; Active or Corporate license in state where working
  • Minimum five years of relevant legal experience/training

 

Preferred skills

  • Significant experience counseling on technology issues like artificial intelligence, e-commerce, data use, websites, native applications, and accessibility
  • Experience researching and addressing insurance/financial services regulatory matters and advocating for proposed legislation and regulation directly or through trade associations
  • Experience with due diligence reviews and integration efforts for mergers and acquisitions
  • Experience drafting and negotiating a broad array of commercial contracts
  • Sound legal, analytical, problem solving, drafting, communication, negotiation, and risk assessment skills suitable for an innovative environment where the law is often ambiguous and new technology is rapidly emerging

 

Compensation

  • $109,300- $156,000/year
  • Gainshare bonus up to 40% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
  • Participation in our restricted stock units program
