Posted Apr 24 Full TimeOn SiteOrlando, Florida The Real Estate Paralegal researches lease, title and other property documents; keeps data management systems accurately updated; verifies accuracy of documents and information; and responds to numerous communications. S/he interfaces with internal clients, outside counsel, opposing parties and governmental offices. Work is performed under the supervision of an attorney.
Roles And Responsibilities Include
- Researches and understands lease provisions, correspondence, title documents, property tax records, site plans and surveys.
- Determines certain rights, responsibilities, issues and/or implications affecting Red Lobster properties; accurately and efficiently summarizes information for internal departments (including operations, asset management and accounting), insurer and attorneys.
- Timely and accurately enters information and documents into data management systems.
- Coordinates issuance of insurance certificates to the appropriate recipients; understands relevant lease requirements and is able to verify certificate accuracy.
- Communicates effectively with various parties, including internal business people, landlords, insurers, attorneys and others within the legal team.
- Understands the business and its interface with real property legal issues.
- Drafts estoppels, SNDA’s, correspondence, and other documents within designated parameters.
- Appropriately addresses a high volume of communications, including routing to others, obtaining information and/or providing responses.
- Verifies documents to be signed, obtains signatures, notarizes and transmits electronically and/or via delivery service.
- Works autonomously within designated parameters; raises issues to attorney when appropriate.
- Keeps information strictly confidential
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, or Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a Paralegal Certification.
Other Key Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial property legal experience
- Ability to multi-task, plan, prioritize work and quickly adapt to changing needs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high intensity environment and address a large volume of communications and information
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of audiences, including solid written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working constructively in teams to solve issues
- Demonstrated ability to use good judgment
- Takes initiative
- Is a Florida notary public
- Ability to use various office related software (e.g., Word, Excel, Adobe Pro) and matter management software
