JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilties:

  • Performs a variety of law-related tasks under the direction of the organization's attorneys
  • Solely responsible for the billing and accounting of all legal bills submitted by outside counsel through our third-party software, SimpleLegal
  • Drafts legal documents, manages and tracks active litigated matters, submits garnishment orders, communicates with opposing counsel and customers regarding open claims, procures documents and materials for discovery and subpoena responses, prepares responses to claim inquiries from the attorneys general, and performs other related duties
  • KSAs: Has developed knowledge and skills through formal training or considerable work experience.
  • Entry level often for those with work experience in the skill area.
  • Identifies the problem and all relevant issues in straightforward situations, assesses each using standard procedures, and makes sound decisions
  • Works with established procedures with a moderate degree of supervision.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and 1-3 year s of experience; post-secondary school education may substitute for years of experience(or equivalent)
  • Some accounting experience highly preferred
