SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking an Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for practicing law and will be responsible for providing a full range of legal and/or compliance counsel and advice for various departments around insurance products, product development, policies, and/or services and will play a pivotal role in overseeing contract review and negotiations third parties. The role will work closely with leaders across the legal departments as well as corresponding business areas to ensure appropriate legal, compliance, and/or risk actions.  

What you’d be doing: 

• Structure, draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial vendor agreements including sales, services agreements, SOWs, software license agreements, SaaS agreements, amendments, and NDAs, with vendors, partners and other third parties. 
• Provide regulatory insurance compliance legal advice including market conduct compliance, licensing, insurance product and other insurance related matters with respect to licensed producers and third-party administrators. 
• Assist and support the development of company policies and procedures, as needed to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and company policy requirements. 
• Stay abreast of regulatory changes and laws that impact the organization and/or insurance industry and effectively communicate developments to business leaders. 
• Find creative solutions to complex legal problems while maintaining the company’s legal and ethical responsibilities. 
• Collaborate with other legal operation associates and business units to identify and address regulatory risk in operational functions. Serves as the Law Department’s representative on enterprise projects within his/her specialized area(s) of legal practice. 
• Foster collaborative working relationship with and provide legal support and strategic legal advice to internal stakeholders. 

We’re looking for someone who has: 

• Juris Doctorate degree required; licensed to practice law in at least one jurisdiction. 
• 3+ years of experience practicing insurance law.  
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. 
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 
• Proficiency in legal research tools and software. 
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive information. 

Highly preferred candidates also have: 

• Five years of related work experience.
• Strong Insurance or financial services experience preferred.
