Position Description

SAP NS2 is seeking a Corporate Counsel at our headquarters in Herndon, Virginia to report to our Deputy General Counsel. Core responsibilities include providing legal advice and counsel on a broad range of transactional, operational, and risk-related and litigation matters, including issues related to commercial and government contracts and subcontracts, national security (e.g., export controls, sanctions, NISPOM, FOCI, supply chain, etc.), cybersecurity, data privacy, employment, and corporate governance and ethics; monitoring, tracking, and opining on regulatory changes that could impact the business; developing effective compliance processes and trainings; and working with external legal advisors, as necessary.

The position requires independent thinking with strong communication, negotiation and analytical skills, superior business judgement, the ability to resolve complex issues in an effective and solution-oriented manner, and the ability to manage multiple projects and transactions at the same time. The ability to work with a team across a wide organization is critical.

Minimum Qualifications

JD from an ABA accredited law school

Admitted to practice law in Virginia or Pennsylvania, or willingness to gain admission by complying with rules for in-house corporate counsel.

4-8+ years of legal experience in relevant government, law firm, and/or in-house positions.

Experience developing internal compliance processes and /or experience in the above-referenced practice areas at a major law firm preferred.

Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance

Compensation Range Transparency : SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 159400 - 270900(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
