Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years' experience in export compliance in a global corporate environment, including experience in U.S. export classification (under the Export Administration Regulations) with a focus on software and technology and in-depth knowledge of encryption regulations.
  • 5+ years of experience working with engineering teams to determine export controls.
  • 5+ years of experience using SNAP-R.
  • 3+ years of experience managing an export classification program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with export controls for hardware.
  • Experience with non-US export regulations.
  • Experience with sanctions compliance.
  • Experience working at a technology company

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct export classification reviews for intangible items (e.g., software and technology) associated with Meta products, partnerships, development projects, vendors, suppliers and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Manage the collection of information and preparation of certain global trade licenses and declarations, including “deemed export” licenses for certain employees to access controlled technology, track U.S. and non-US license/authorization expirations, and renew/maintain authorizations.
  • Manage compliance and reporting obligations associated with certain US and non-US licenses/authorizations.
  • Monitor regulatory changes, run enterprise-wide risk assessments based on regulatory updates to export controls, and assess impacts.
  • Develop and manage metrics for management reporting on export compliance programs, with a focus on intangibles.
  • Execute other projects in support of Meta’s global trade compliance program.
