Job Overview

Come join our amazing team of leaders, learners and world-class legal professionals. Working as a member of the Products Counseling Team, you will be responsible for partnering with multiple innovative product teams around the world to power prosperity for consumers and small businesses. Your specific focus will be working with the Quickbooks Workforce Solutions suite of products. For these products, you will ensure that Intuit’s products are structured to achieve our strategy while complying with applicable laws and regulations in multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of regulations in the financial services area, including FCRA, state lending and payments laws, TILA, and have experience advising on advertising and marketing.

Qualifications

  • At least 6-8+ years of experience primarily advising technology companies
  • Significant breadth of knowledge in as many of the following areas as possible: data privacy and protection, IP, mobile and cloud computing, competition law, employment law, and technology licensing
  • Experience navigating regulations related to financial services
  • Experience with insurance products and related legal issues
  • Demonstrated ability to perform with minimal supervision
  • Experience providing legal support on a global scale
  • Ability to communicate with business partners about regulatory obligations and risk management processes
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • Ability to produce clear and succinct written legal analysis and business communications, and counsel and manage clients, including senior management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to interact with and lead change with senior executive leaders
  • Ability to effectively frame issues to drive strategic thinking and execution
  • Comfortable and adept at balancing risk and opportunity, and thinking creatively to enable the business to make smart decisions
  • Excellent teaching and training skills
  • Excellent business acumen
  • JD and membership in good standing with at least one US State Bar

 

Responsibilities

  • You will be the senior legal partner to the Workforce Solutions leadership team and partner closely with product management, business development, engineering, design, marketing, and compliance and operations teams.
  • You will provide legal advice and counseling on a wide variety of cutting edge matters, including data privacy and protection, product liability, IP and regulatory compliance. Many of these matters will be in the FinTech and MarTech areas, including payroll and employee time tracking products.. You may structure, draft, negotiate and advise upon various complex transactions with minimal direction and supervision. You will also provide legal advice and counseling on a wide variety of matters.
  • You should be comfortable with navigating through unknown/uncharted areas and seeking appropriate advice/guidance as well as ‘swim’ on your own in the ocean.
  • You should be passionate and tech-savvy with a solid understanding of product compliance as well as fintech-innovation generally – all to provide support to various work streams enabling product offerings to delight small businesses.

Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is Bay Area California $195,000 - 264,500. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits).
