Marathon is seeking a paralegal with strong analytical, legal research, writing and organizational skills to support the Corporate component of the Law organization. The selected candidate will research and analyze statutes, regulations, regulatory guidance documents, and court decisions, including in the areas of corporate and securities laws, finance, mergers and acquisitions, digital, privacy, cybersecurity and intellectual property; assimilate information for use by in-house and outside counsel; assist in the drafting and review of corporate constituency, governance and corporate proceeding documents; assist in maintaining subsidiary record books and regulatory filings and registrations; assist in the drafting and review of corporate agreements and other instruments; and/or manage internal Company or Law Organization processes and procedures and document management systems.
This position is a full-time, onsite role based in Findlay, OH.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides collaborative, professional support to practicing attorneys and other legal professionals to assure that the Company, its assets and its activities are legally safeguarded, comply with applicable laws and regulations and do not unduly expose the Company to liabilities
Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, regulations, recorded judicial decisions, agency guidance documents, legal articles, treatises, and legal codes in jurisdictions where the Company operates
Assist in the drafting and review of corporate constituency, governance and corporate proceeding documents and assist in maintaining subsidiary record books and regulatory filings and registrations;
Assist in the drafting and review of corporate agreements and other instruments
Uses matter management and document management databases and programs and other technology tools to collaboratively, effectively and efficiently manage matters, projects, litigation and research materials
Works cooperatively and in compliance with processes, procedures and guidelines developed by the practicing attorneys and Law Administration team
Assists with responding to subpoenas, information requests, and similar inquiries seeking Company information.
Makes reports, presentations, publishes information and participates in other activities to educate Company employees
Keeps informed of developments in the law, new and proposed statutes and regulations, and other matters of legal interest to the Company
Maintains knowledge of specific legal and regulatory requirements and Company policies and procedures
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies from ABA-approved school required
Entry-Level applicants are encouraged to apply

Experience in a corporate paralegal capacity preferred, but not required
