Represent Janus and its affiliates’ financial and legal interests on a variety of transactional matters, including overseeing the company’s adherence to applicable data privacy laws and regulations and administering the company’s legal data protection compliance program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal advice to domestic and international business teams regarding data collection and processing and privacy compliance.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable data privacy laws and regulations by monitoring and tracking privacy and security laws, rules, regulations, and trends.
  • Provide revisions as needed to data privacy policies, procedures and agreements.
  • Review complex contract and transactional documents for legal risk.
  • Draft, amend, and negotiate contract documents in multiple formats.
  • Perform legal research and provide general legal advice to various departments.
  • Assist with handling of all legal claims/matters.
  • Assist in streamlining existing contracts processes and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate (B.A. or B.S.) and Law (J.D.) degrees from an accredited Law School required. Admission to the bar in one of the 50 states required.
  • 3+ years’ experience preferred; minimum of 2-3 years of experience in data privacy and network security.
  • Substantial experience in all aspects of contract negotiation, including primary responsibility for management of the negotiation process and drafting of contract language.
  • Must be detail oriented and must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Must possess strong writing and analytical skills to independently review, draft, and prepare documents with good organizational and project management skills.
  • Self-starter with good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
