About This Role

Wells Fargo is seeking a Counsel to join the Third-Party Services team in the Wells Fargo Legal Department.

In This Role, You Will

  • Draft and negotiate a wide variety of agreements, in collaboration with partners, clients and colleagues.
  • Provide advice and guidance to internal clients on a range of legal matters
  • Review and analyze basic matters or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives, and exercise independent judgment to guide medium risk deliverables
  • Participate in initiatives of varying scope and complexity, and identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Represent the Company in negotiations, settlement discussions, and claims-related legal issues
  • Support the work of more experienced counsel along with professional staff on complex matters
  • Present recommendations for challenging situations and exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Provide leadership and direction on internal initiatives
  • Advise on the impact of policy, legal, and regulatory changes
  • Provide support and guidance to colleagues or paralegals
  • Collaborate with functional colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders
  • Partner with business leaders and management of other corporate departments to develop and implement risk management programs

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Law experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Active State Bar membership or the equivalent in a country outside the United States

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience as a practicing attorney
  • Experience negotiating and drafting contracts for the following types of transactions: Telecommunications, marketing, advertising, consulting
  • Experience with third party risk management and related regulations
  • Experience preparing legal memoranda for senior attorneys and business leaders.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced complex environment with a high degree of collaboration.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work while handling multiple matters.
