Senior Corporate Counsel Smarsh is seeking a Sr. Corporate Counsel with 7+ years of experience to join our dynamic and growing legal team. The Sr. Corporate Counsel will serve as the lead negotiator of sales opportunities for Smarsh’s Enterprise Business Unit, and will have a pragmatic, collaborative, business-minded approach to legal practice.

The Sr. Corporate Counsel will be expected to support the business in the following ways: Negotiate complex SaaS and software agreements, including ancillary agreements (such as data protection and information security agreements); Negotiate licensing and other agreements required to support the business; Collaborate cross-functionally in the negotiating process to ensure internal alignment, understanding when and how to escalate to secure optimal results; Develop and execute negotiation strategies to support business goals; Work efficiently and effectively with internal and external stakeholders to drive transactions to closure; Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance the provision of legal services; Interact daily with legal team; maintain open communication; collaborate to achieve common and cross-functional goals; and Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience A Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA accredited institution Active bar member in any state 7+ years’ experience in the practice of law or similar advisory position 3+ years experience negotiating SaaS agreements Experience at a growth technology company Or equivalent combination of education and experience

What do we offer? Base salary range: $165,000 – $180,000, depending on experience, plus an incentive bonus program and a sizable grant of stock options.
