We are seeking a talented export classification lead candidate for this role who demonstrates the relevant trade and technical experience to help build an excellent future for export compliance at Intel.

Responsibilities:

The scope of work includes but is not limited to:

  • Acts as lead to the Intel export classification team.
  • Ensures that Intel’s global operations comply with export trade laws and regulations with regard to export classification under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and other countries. 
  • Partners with Intel business groups to communicate trade compliance requirements, engage with customers as necessary, and deliver solutions that navigate the fast-changing trade environment. 
  • Determines the business impact of regulatory and/or business changes and serves as the point of contact for interactions with regulatory agencies and government advisory committees on defined matters. 
  • Evaluate internal operations, controls, risk assessments, and maintenance of documentation, including policies and procedures as related to regulatory compliance, and recommend appropriate changes. 
  • Classifies goods or technology being exported completes required documentation, and compiles reports. 
  • Provides a centralized approach to managing Intel's tools and data structures related to common and repetitive transaction-based tasks. 
  • Drives standardization of trade processes and standard operating procedures.  
  • Performs regulatory interpretations and delivers white paper technical reviews that determine the classification for a range of products, technology, software, and technical services/support. 
  • Work closely with BUs to understand their needs and ensure that export classification strategies align with business objectives.
  • Understand new business initiatives and ensure classification timelines are met to avoid delays in releases.
  • Facilitate communication between BUs and the export compliance team, including classification issues resolution, business process and model support, training, and product roadmap questions.
  • Advocate for regulatory changes to benefit Intel's business.
  • Analyze technologies declared in Intel export classification systems; determine ECCN and other export prerequisites. 
  • Write classification analysis, and record along with any other documentation.
  • Provide support to the team and offer advisory services on classification matters to the Classification Team.
  • Partner with other ECS teams to resolve issues and develop classification solutions and Tier 2 escalations.
  • Analyze new and existing regulations to assess the impact on Intel operations, including gathering data for reclassification and writing new CCATS as required.
  • Provide export classification support for M&A projects.

 

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 5+ years export classification experience
  • 7+ years trade compliance experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Semiconductor industry experience
  • Certified Export compliance specialist
  • 7+ years export classification experience
  • 10+ years trade compliance experience
  • Supervisory or lead experience
  • SAP/GTS experience

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California: $143,444.00-$214,556.00
*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience


Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
