Job Summary
The Associate Counsel assists the Business and Legal Affairs (“BALA”) team in the formal review and negotiation of standard BALA contracts, such as master service agreements, statements of work, sponsorship agreements, media purchase agreements, social media and content agreements, consulting agreements, technology and data license agreements, and contract templates. The Associate Counsel is specifically tasked with drafting, reviewing, assessing vendor agreements across all departments of the agency. Additionally, the Associate Counsel partners with all agency departments to provide campaign counseling, evaluate current contractual risk and to ensure contractual protections and processes are sufficient to cover business transactions. This position also requires proficiency in utilizing the BALA ticketing system (Nexus) related to vendor contract review requests and its electronic contracts database and depository (LaserFiche).

Knowledge And Skills Required
Certificates, licenses and registrations
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and a Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school. Candidate must be a member in good standing of the New York State Bar.

_ Salary Range
$110,000.00 - $135,000.00
A successful applicant’s actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure/certifications, and equity.
