Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY: 

Identify and analyze passenger and crewmember shipboard risks as part of confidential investigation of incidents/claims in anticipation of litigation at the direction of legal counsel. Liaise directly with counsel regarding findings/trends.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • On a daily basis review incident data to identify potential risks.
  • Prioritize incident findings as necessary.
  • Aggregate data and formulate trends.
  • Conduct risk assessment based on collaboration and instruction from legal counsel.
  • Work with claims representatives and shipboard personnel to assist in identifying risks.
  • Liaise with shoreside safety department to address risks and formulate solutions.
  • Track financial savings/expense associated with shipboard incidents and claims.
  • Provide monthly/quarterly reports with detailed analysis at the direction of legal counsel.
  • Monitor loss run in conjunction with claims and analyze data in preparation for renewal.
  • Assist with analyzing/identifying corporate employee risks, i.e. workers compensation, etc.
  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

DEGREE TYPE: Bachelor's Degree

FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Risk Management, Statistics, Safety, Economics, Marine, etc.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in risk management, financial analysis, or related roles within a corporate environment.

 

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:

  • Must possess strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Should have maritime knowledge/background.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to work with multiple people/departments and establish strong working relationships.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and must have the ability to prioritize and effectively handle multiple tasks on a daily basis.
  • Strong presentation skills.

 

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

  • Risk Management, Safety, Marine, Analytics/Statistics a plus.
