Description

Seeking to immediately fill the position of Coordinator, Legal & Business Affairs within the Legal Department, who would operate at the direction and under the supervision of lawyers in the Global Media group and senior members of the Legal & Business Affairs group, with a focus primarily on the preparation, administration and analysis of media agreements, as well as various other administrative tasks and government filings in support of the Global Media business.

Responsibilities

  • Media agreement preparation and administration:
    • Extensive interaction with the Global Media business unit and other business units (including Marketing, Social Media, Gaming, Mobile, Technology, Advertising, Promotions and Sponsorship);
  • Management and preparation of media agreements;
  • Responsibility for compliance with contractual deadlines, MLB rules, and other terms; and
  • Maintenance of database of media agreements
  • Review and analyze MLB club media contracts in order to advise clubs and the Global Media and other business units
  • Responsibility for copyright registrations and other government filings
  • Review of advertising and other use of MLB and MLB club marks and other content for compliance with applicable terms and conditions
  • Legal research, administrative support and other projects as needed in service of the Legal Department
Requirements

  • College graduate and at least two years’ experience as a contract administrator / transactional paralegal (or equivalent); experience at a law firm strongly preferred
  • Excellent writing, verbal communication and analytical skills
  • Top academic credentials and references
  • Ability to handle privileged, confidential and sensitive information in an appropriate and professional manner
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and simultaneously accomplish multiple quantitatively and qualitatively challenging tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Workshare 9 and Web

Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000.

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision.
