Legal.io is working with a leading global HR services company that is seeking an experience Employment Counsel to provide advice and counsel both internally and to its product teams. This is a 30 hour per week, fully remote, project, with an expected initial duration of 3 months.

Work to be Done:

• Advise on a range of queries that arise in relation to the company's employer of record product, liaising with the clients and employees themselves where required
• Advise on a range of queries that arise in relation to our other products such as the contractor product, global payroll, HRIS
• Helping us to develop excellent template contracts and knowledge resources
• Supporting different internal stakeholders such as Sales team, Customer care, and other operational teams
• Helping with strategic thinking around our business model and future opportunities
• Review contracts and other formal documents in relation to our international expansion
• Liaise with Local Counsel when the matters need to be escalated to our external lawyers
• Handle employment litigations and collections matters, when needed
• Support contract negotiations with clients
• Support advising other teams on legal matters
• Support legal analysis on new products, services and business models
• Help develop the legal function within Remote

Requirements:

• Looking at a bit of a 'generalist' with an employment law bias to help the company tackle high volume of tickets and potentially termination support. Many of the tickets may involve 'redlining' and doc review of customer / external employee employment agreements against our template and guidance material.
• Knowledge of EOR business model is a big plus
• Admitted to the bar in a US jursidiction
• Technology: Google Docs, Notion, Slack

Role Details: Hours: 30 Hours / Week Duration: 3 Months (From 5/12/2024 until 8/11/2024) Pay Rate: $140 - $180/ hr
