About the Role Alight seeks a high-performing Commercial Senior Counsel to join a collaborative Legal & Corporate Affairs Organization. This role will support a rapidly transforming and dynamic business. The focus will be on the growth and development of Alight’s technology and services solutions.


  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex technology/subscription and strategic commercial contracts.
  • Serving as a strategic business partner and trusted legal advisor to drive transformational business initiatives.
  • Providing thought leadership and innovation in the development of efficient commercial contracting processes and templates.
  • Providing day-to-day practical, action-oriented advice related to our constantly evolving technology and services solutions.
  • Absorbing and substantively supporting our technology and service solutions, including relevant industry trends, practices and risks.
  • Delivering legal guidance and analysis in complex due diligence related to potential mergers, acquisitions, etc.
  • Making effective use of technology and automation in the practice of law, including contract management systems.


  • Possess a Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Able to proactively provide actionable guidance and advice, and sound business-focused solutions.
  • 5+ years in-house experience.
  • Experience in data privacy laws and intellectual property concepts related to technology and service solutions.
  • Possess learning agility, including a demonstrated willingness to develop expertise in new subject matter areas.
  • Be detail-orientation and have ability to balance competing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
  • Have a proven track record of successful teamwork, exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Display adept ability to effectively present and communicate information to senior leadership and successfully impact decision-making.
  • Recognize our purpose and values, including high ethical standards, teamwork, client service, work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Demonstrate proficient negotiating complex SaaS and other technology-related contracts.
  • Possess Innovative and agile growth mindset to support key transformational projects.
