What you will be doing

The Litigation Department is looking for an experienced Senior Litigation Paralegal to join the team reporting to the Vice President of Litigation. The Senior Litigation Paralegal is responsible for providing support to a team of attorneys handling litigation and related legal matters. This role will be based near one of our divisional offices: Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Pleasanton, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Boise, ID; Phoenix, AZ; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Chicago, IL; Philadelphia, PA or Boston, MA.

Main responsibilities

Litigation

  • Coordinating with business clients, third parties, and law enforcement to respond to subpoenas, third-party discovery requests, demand letters, and small disputes
  • Review and transmittal of service of process
  • Working with Risk Management to tender insured matters
  • Discovery tasks in complex litigation, including deposition coordination, witness interviews, written discovery, and gathering responsive records
  • Analyzing and resolving small claims
  • Working with e-billing issues
  • Assisting with litigation management by maintaining matter management dashboards, litigation calendars, metrics, and reports
  • Providing guidance to junior paralegals as appropriate
  • Performing other administrative duties as assigned

E-Discovery

  • Coordinating with custodians to identify relevant documents and storage repositories in response to discovery requests
  • Liaising with Litigation eDiscovery team to institute litigation holds, conduct witness interviews, and collect custodial documents

The salary range is $36.25 to $47.07 hourly. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation Pay (accrued based on hours worked) or Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (such as 401(k) eligibility). What we are searching for

  • Prior in-house legal experience is a plus
  • Experience with Relativity, Legal Tracker, or other case management platforms is a plus

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or paralegal studies certificate required from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited program or other equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience as a litigation paralegal, including primary responsibility for a database or one or more significant areas of the law
  • eDiscovery experience
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Comfortable using, and learning how to use, legal technology and databases
  • Proven ability to work well with others and to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to produce significant output with minimal wasted effort
  • Plans, organizes, and schedules in an efficient, productive manner; focuses on key priorities; manages time well
  • Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic
