Role Summary/Purpose

The Labor & Employment Paralegal role will be an integral part of the new GE Vernova Americas Labor & Employment (L&E) team. The L&E Paralegal will provide support to L&E counsel (internal and external) with respect to subpoenas and government inquiries, compliance matters, litigation and administrative charges, alternative dispute resolution matters, and other critical projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with data compilation/analysis, generation and review of reports, and other tasks as needed for support of Compliance and Ombuds matters.
  • Monitor requirements of evolving state and federal legislation and oversee/track compliance.
  • Review and process subpoenas and government inquiries, including compilation of personnel data/records and communication with requesting parties as needed.
  • Serve as Coordinator/Administrator for the Company’s alternative dispute resolution (ADR) program, including management of employee process questions and submission of concerns, coordination of internal meetings for presentation and review of claims, and administrative support for mediations and arbitrations.
  • Provide support on litigation and administrative charge matters, including assistance with case filings, compilation, review and production of data/documents, coordination with witnesses, preparation of exhibits, issuance of preservation notices, maintenance of case tracker, payment of vendor invoices, processing of settlement payments, and other tasks as needed.
  • Partner with members of the L&E team to develop and implement process improvements and templates.
  • Assist with other tasks and matters as may be assigned by the L&E team and other Company attorneys.

Basic Qualifications / Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 5 years paralegal work experience

  • Familiarity with Westlaw and other on-line litigation resources, as well as Internet-based fact and media research
  • Familiarity with electronic legal billing and matter management systems
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

The salary range for this positions is 75k-100k. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
