Provides technical and administrative support to the legal department which involves researching the law, investigating facts, and preparing legal documents. Performs legal assignments that are varied and complex in nature. Assignments may be broad, requiring originality, ingenuity, and a high degree of technical skill.

Job Responsibilities

• Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, legal articles, recorded judicial decisions, constitutions and legal codes.
• Investigates facts and law of case to determine causes of action and to prepare case accordingly.
• Prepares legal documents as directed by corporate counsel.
• Interacts with the Company’s management team regarding specific requests for legal advice and support.
• Establishes, monitors, and maintains case files. Documents communication with clients.
• Provides general clerical support as needed.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

• High School degree or GED equivalent

Experience

• Five (5) years’ experience performing legal research and preparing legal documents for review, approval, and used by an attorney

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to effectively use the Law Library for law digests, law encyclopedias, statutes, and administrative regulations
• Discretion, sound judgment, tack and diplomacy in all communications
• Strong bias for action, well-organized, ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a high level of quality
• Ability to comfortably and effectively communicate with staff
• Ability to interact with staff in a courteous and efficient manner
