SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide assistance to paralegals and attorneys in all aspects of healthcare regulatory projects for healthcare providers and suppliers such as hospitals, hospices, home health agencies, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities and more. The person in this role must be self-motivated, detail oriented, have the ability to handle sensitive, confidential matters and exercise sound discretion and judgment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Assist with drafting and filing various forms with state and federal agencies for healthcare providers and suppliers, including licensure filings, certificates of need, and Medicare and Medicaid applications.

  • Assist with analyzing and preparing various documents, compilations, internal and external tracking materials, and other items relating to government requests and audits of Medicare and Medicaid providers and communicate with clients and government personnel regarding same.
  • Correspond with state and federal agencies.
  • Assist with maintaining internal and client project status logs and reports.
  • Assist with preparation of corporate transaction documents.
  • Assist with corporate formations and related projects, including drafting of corporate documents, maintaining corporate records, and tracking required corporate filing deadlines and reporting status.
  • Prepare, draft, edit and maintain general legal and compliance-related documents.
  • Assist with conducting document reviews and document production to government agencies and related contractors.
  • Assist with docketing and monitoring deadlines.
  • Learn/develop technical proficiency in database use and management; internet/electronic research; and project folder/electronic file maintenance.
  • Assist with organizing and managing client files and records.
  • Perform public searches of all kinds.
  • Attend and participate in in-house CLEs.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and attitude.
  • Comply with firm policies.
  • Sustain attention to detail and quality of work.
  • Meet annual billable hour requirement of 1000 hours.

POSITION-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • 1 year related paralegal experience; experience in healthcare regulatory practice or corporate practice preferred.
  • High School Diploma required; Paralegal Certificate and/or Associates Degree preferred.

OR

 

  • Significant, substantive legal related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education at the discretion of the SBU Leader.

_ Compensation And Benefits

Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:

State of California: $57,000 - $79,000

State of Colorado: $49,000 - $68,000

State of Massachusetts: $58,000 - $79,000

The above salaries do not include a discretionary bonus, however bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
