Overview

Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Practice Analyst. This position could be based in our Boston, New York, or Washington DC officeThis is a hybrid position.

 

Responsibilities

What is a Practice Analyst? In this entry-level role, you will develop a keen understanding of firm tech and resources and leverage them to the team’s best use. We are looking for enthusiastic team members with strong technology skills who are committed to delivering service at the highest level every single day.  As a Practice Analyst, you will work within the Team Support Center.  

 

Variety really is the name of the game in this position. Here are just some of the types of tasks that will fill your day: 

  • Data Management, Client Relationship Management: You will enter, update, search and analyze CRM data; initiate new business conflicts reports, open new matters, and update the internal lawyer experience platform. 
  • Workflow: You will complete document prep and edits and prepare financial data charts and reports, as well as litigation pleadings, transaction documents, and engagement and waiver letters. With your technical know-how, you will organize electronic matter files and utilize other firm resources to improve workflow efficiencies. 
  • Finance Process: You will prepare client invoices, vendor bills, expense reports and check requests and assist with the audit response process. You will build client-facing financial reports leveraging business intelligence platforms such as PowerBI or Excel.
  • Innovate: We are inspired by innovation and committed to leading it in every area of our firm. One of your responsibilities will be to look for ways to streamline processes and procedures, identify new and expanded uses for existing technologies and contribute to our environment of innovation.
  • Meetings & Travel: You will assist with the coordination of air/car/hotel arrangements and prepare travel itineraries, managing a traveler’s experience from start to finishincluding expense reports. You will also arrange teleconference and videoconference meetings, often across time zones, with the support of internal resources and tech tools. 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • One to three years of practical work experience preferred  
  • High technology aptitude and excellent computer skills in the full MS Office suite 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Crazy attention to detail 
  • Some research and database skills 
  • Flexibility, an enthusiastic approach to client service, and strong organization and time management skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is between:

  • New York City $45,000 - $68,500
  • National $41,000 - $55,000

 

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick’s estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography.  Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance. 

We offer a full range of elective health benefits including medical, dental, vision and life insurances; robust mental well-being benefits; child, family, elder, and pet care benefits; short- and long-term disability benefits; a health savings account (w/applicable medical plan), flexible spending accounts, long-term care insurance, and a 401K program. This role is eligible to employees will receive compensated time off through our Paid Time Off program, generous Parental leave benefits, and paid holidays.

New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay overtime based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge. The full base pay range for incumbent employees in this position can be expected to fall between $57,200 and $68,500.
