About the role:

We are currently seeking a Legal Project Manager at our corporate headquarters in St. Louis, MO

 

Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, this person will manage Peabody’s Records Retention program. Responsible for day-to-day upkeep and data entry as well as oversight of records reviews, training relating to records retention and is point person for site questions regarding records retention. 

 

Duties will Include:

  • Manage, maintain and administer company’s records retention program to ensure global compliance with records retention policy and schedules.
  • Manage and regularly schedule record reviews to ensure legal, regulatory and organizational requirements are met collaborating across business units to appropriately update, retain and maintain policies and records.
  • Manage vendor relationships.
  • Manage Ethics and Compliance software applications and tools and work with AGC on policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for training relative to the program as well as audits. 
  • Assist with the roll-out and track completion rates of annual compliance training programs Assist with global policy review process.
  • Review internal Company policies on a rolling basis and assist in the preparation of revisions to such policies as necessary.
  • Conduct investigations and assist with investigation follow up, as needed including litigation support.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and entry of data into the Ethics and Compliance system.
  • Assist with Compliance Program management. 
    • Under the direction of AGC, develop and implement policies and procedures.
    • Manage the day-to-day global paraprofessional support for Peabody’s Global Ethics and Compliance function; monitoring, tracking, reporting, and analyzing questions and concerns raised through the Tell Peabody system and directly at Peabody’s sites; manage and coordinate training of the program; work with AGC to provide and implement policy management and program assessments. 
    • Supports and assists, as needed, in conducting interviews and document review for investigations as well as provides litigation and document production support; review and clearing disclosures regarding conflicts of interest and gifts and entertainment; and other items related to the programs as requested. 
  • Support internal litigation and corporate development functions.
  • Provide support in significant litigation and the legal aspects of corporate development matters.
  • Perform various other duties as requested, including without limitation assisting as needed on due diligence projects related to corporate development activities as well as document production in significant litigation matters.

 

The lifestyle:

This position is a full-time role working Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm CST. Peabody offers flexible work policies, including hybrid office/home working arrangements.

 

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, combination of experience and specialized training preferred.
  • Must have 2-3 years’ experience in records retention program management.
  • Requires excellent PC skills and experience with applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Professional along with Internet Explorer; must have the ability to learn new programs.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must have strong organizational skills with ability to follow through on tasks assigned.
  • Must be a proactive individual who seeks out ways to solve problems and provide assistance and support.
  • Requires an individual who is very detail-oriented. 
  • Must have the ability to handle confidential information and materials and multi-task as necessary. 
  • Must possess ability to do his/her job with minimal direction and work as part of an integrated team.   

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing
  • Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment
  • Must be able to use a computer
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively
  • Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
