Responsibilities

Linda M. Villarreal & Associates, staff counsel for State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, is seeking a Paralegal to join their growing team in Houston, Texas. Candidates must be detail-oriented, adaptable, able to prioritize workload, and can multi-task in a fast paced electronic environment. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, assisting Attorneys with conducting client discovery meetings, drafting written discovery objections and responses, drafting reports, drafting medical summaries/chronologies, and trial assistance. The position is classified as a hybrid role, meaning that the work arrangement calls for hours in the office and virtually. Everyone in a hybrid role is required to spend some time in the office.  Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs.

Office Location: 1221 Lamar St., Houston, TX 77010


Qualifications

  • Prior Paralegal experience, preferably in an insurance defense firm
  • Experience reviewing medical records and preparing medical chronologies is required
  • Trial preparation experience is required 
  • Strong organizational skills are required in this fast paced work environment
  • Working knowledge/experience utilizing the Texas Rules of Civil Procedures
  • Strong software/technical skills including experience working in a case management system
  • Experience working in an electronic/digital environment
  • Bilingual skills are preferred but not required
