Our client, a leading figure in the banking sector, is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager with a strong focus on Payments. This role is critical for spearheading initiatives that involve substantial financial and technological undertakings, with project budgets that often exceed $1 million. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of leadership, innovation, and industry knowledge to manage complex, high-risk projects, particularly those introducing new technologies and cultural changes within the financial services realm. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive business cases and construct detailed project plans for implementing innovative solutions, including process improvements and new systems or applications.
  • Manage the full project lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
  • Leverage deep business and technical knowledge to navigate projects with significant political implications or technology challenges.
  • Formulate unique strategies and contingency plans to ensure project success, particularly for groundbreaking initiatives in the Payments domain.
  • Oversee project budgets, timelines, and resources, maintaining rigorous attention to detail and organizational excellence.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships across various levels, ensuring clear communication and collaborative problem resolution. Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 6 years of recent experience in the Financial Services or Banking industry, with a significant focus on project management.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale projects in the Payments area.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Scrum Master certification, demonstrating proficiency in agile methodologies. Desired Skills:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities, with a knack for assertive and action-oriented leadership.
  • High level of self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and facilitate collaboration.
  • Business, financial, and technical acumen to drive projects that involve new market technologies and significant cultural shifts.
